2004

System Integration/Portable Document iFont

  • Companies utilizing Arphic’s HiFont Technology: Canon Japan (Japanese Electronic Dictionary), Hitachi (HDTV).
  • Companies utilizing Arphic’s iFont products: SATO Corporation (BarCode Label Printer), Haier Group China, Group Sense International Ltd. (Instant-Dict Electronic Dictionary).
  • BenQ embeds Arphic’s Mobile Font (font technology aimed at mobile devices display) in its own mobile phone series.
  • Ongoing efforts to develop iFont products to cover character glyphs all over the world. (Character glyphs used by 7 countries in the central Asia are absent at present).

Chinese font solutions :

  • Bureau of National Health Insurance adopts Arphic’s bidirectional conversion tool for EUC code and Unicode in its second-generation national health insurance system.
  • Chunghwa Post Corporation’s Chinese character glyphs and code conversion system for Computer Printing and Packaging Services adopts Arphic’s foreign word administration system to facilitate its e-mail printing and foreign words management.
  • Chunghwa Post Corporation’s Deposit Bureau and Postal Services Counter System adopts Arphic Unicode 3.0 and Big-5 fonts as its system default Chinese fonts.
  • Java Swing function expansion project for the DGBAS’s Chinese common platform.
  • The electronic household registration system of the Ministry of the Interior adopts Arphic’s Chinese common platform components.。
  • The Ministry of Examination adopts Arphic’s foreign word administration system to solve Chinese characters and foreign words issue in its computerized examination rooms implementation project.

PDF Solutions:Arphic develops PDF APIs, which now are adopted by government agencies and enterprises to serve various purposes.

  • Qware Systems adopts Arphic PDF API in their application system used to generate PDF files for their ultimate parent company.
  • Bureau of Animal and Plant Inspection and Quarantine adopts Arphic PDF API in their application system development.
  • Securities and Futures Investors Protection Center adopts Arphic Document Management System (ADMS) for inner document control and query purposes.
  • Announces Arphic UniFonts 2004, with the worldwide first Chinese font management tool included.
  • Completes designs of Standard Kai and Standard Sung style character glyphs for CNS 11643 plane 1 to 7, 10 to 15; glyphs exceed 81,000 in total.
  • Successfully develops the third generation of Arphic’s foreign word administration system.
  • Utilizes Arphic’s patented technologies to develop Arphic Mobile Font , the mobile devices oriented product which displays characters with more efficient speed and higher quality.

2003

System Integration/Portable Document iFont :

  • Arphic’s iFont products are adopted in Japan Seiko’s IC Dictionary products (included in the Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese learning machine models).
  • Supplies new iFont products for Hitachi USA (DTV), Canon Japan (Language Learning Machine), and Casio (Label Printer).
  • Up to 20 renowned domestic companies opt Arphic’s iFont solution for their IA products this year. Now Arphic is in a close contact with IBM, BenQ, Wistron and Institute for Information Industry to build partnerships.

Chinese font solutions:

  • Design project of Kai style character glyphs for CNS 11643 plane 6 and 7 from the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (the DGBSA).
  • The implementation project of Java Swing components in the DGBAS’s Chinese common platform.
  • The implementation project of Full Character Repository’s text transformation gateway and added components for the Chinese common platform from the DGBAS.
  • Cooperates with the IQ Thchnology on the DGBAS Full Character Repository project to add input method and reading interface, character meanings, related phrases and phonetic symbols features.

PDF Solutions:Arphic’s PDF solutions are adopted by government agencies and enterprises.

  • Arphic’s PDF solutions are adopted by government agencies and enterprises. The Legislatvie Yuan, Council for Cultural Affairs, Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission, Bureau of Hsinchu Science-based Industrial, Development Center for Biotechnology, the Conscription Agency of Ministry of Interior, Lienchiang County Government, etc.
  • Users of enterprises include: United Daily, D-Link Corporation, Data Systems Consulting Corporation, ARES International Corporation, Delta Electronics Inc., etc.
  • Arphic introduces new versions of PDF-related software, including APT 2.0, ADIS 2.0 and Scan 2 PDF.
  • Announces font product Arphic Dr. Zhuyin, which is recommanded by PC 2000, PChome, PC Shopper magazine as “Editor’s Choice” soon after its release.

2002

System Integration/Portable Document

  • Arphic makes a benefit license agreement with RDEC (Research Development and Evaluation Commission) for use of PDF software in official e-document interchange.
  • Arphic obtains exclusive license from Adobe to sell Acrobat products to governmental institutes.
  • RDEC PDF customers include Bank of Taiwan, Taiwan Power, Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission, National Expressway Engineering Bureau, National Health Research Institutes, Chung-Hwa Telecom, Land Affairs Office, etc.
  • Arphic introduces a variety of solutions for use of PDF in e-documents.
  • Arphic IA fonts are adopted in Hitachi USA new digital TV
  • Other IA fonts customers include SAGAM, Sendo, DBTEL, Wistron, MasterIA, Chi Mei Communication Systems, etc.
  • Arphic ATE-EUC products are adopted in the insurance management system of BNHI (Bureau of National Health Insurance).

2001

Enterprise Conversion/IA solutions

  • Arphic develops the second generation of ATE-EUC RIS font database application to provide software development components for system integrators.
  • Arphic introduces APT (Arphic Power Tool) to integrate Adobe Acrobat system.
  • Arphic promotes Portable Document for governmental institutes to use of e-document.
  • Arphic IA fonts are adopted in Hitachi Japan digital TV.
  • Animeta, Acer’s affiliate, includes Arphic IA fonts in their Linux embedded system.
  • HP exclusively embeds Arphic Unicode 3.0 fonts in their Unix system of HP-UX.

2000

Engagement in System Integration and IA

  • Arphic announces ATE-EUC, the RIS font database application for Windows, for users to develop related software in Windows environment.
  • Arphic introduces fonts used on digital TV and IA products.
  • Arphic introduces color font technology and wins a contract with Creo Japan.
  • Arphic cooperates with Adobe in document converting service to create PDF.
  • Arphic wins a patent lawsuit with the competitor, DynaLab.
