Introduction to Arphic
LCD Font |
|
|
| |
| |
Two characteristics of Arphic LCD font are: |
|
|
| |
| |
1. Provide font
for display on LCD with higher quality than ordinary bitmap
font. |
| |
|
With the limitation of LCD resolution, serration
of diagonal lines or curves is obvious in ordinary bitmap
fonts, which seriously affects readability.
With the limitation of single-color output at one point,
boldness of a character can only be increased or reduced
in multiples. It always leads to the paradox of characters
being too fine or too bold on the whole.
Arphic LCD font employs smooth font technology which significantly
reduces the serration problem and increase readability
of the font.
Grayscale font technology is employed to exert fine control
over the boldness of diagonal lines. These lines will
be displayed a bit bolder or finer than original in order
to improve display quality. |

2. Font enhancement solutions are provided for
all color LCD of non-RGB subpixel alignment, e.g., Strip,
interlaced, Delta, etc. |
|
|
| |
| |
|
For LCD of RGB interlaced or delta alignment,
straight lines will be changed to vibrating lines, black
text will become reddish or bluish. Arphic LCD font enhancement
programs will solve all these problems, improving the
readability and clarity of fonts on these LCDs.

PS: This technology may be used in combination with
Arphic scalable font technology (HiFont) or bitmap font
technology. |
